These terms apply when you use the PermitBeam website, request a pilot brief, or receive access to the private review desk.
The Service
PermitBeam organizes official public records for NYC and Lower Westchester into a private review desk and source-cited reports. Pilot access is invitation-based. The public website does not make a standing paid-subscription offer; any fee, scope, access period, or refund term must be stated in a separate written agreement.
Public-Record Limits
Government records can be delayed, incomplete, amended, duplicated, or incorrect. PermitBeam preserves source identifiers and provides the most specific verified source link available, but a dataset link may be used when an agency does not provide a stable row-level page.
PermitBeam is an informational review tool, not professional advice or a substitute for due diligence. Verify material facts in the official source and apply your own professional standards before relying on a record.
Accounts and Access
You are responsible for protecting your sign-in credentials and for activity under your account. Do not share access outside the people or organization covered by your invitation or written agreement. Tell us promptly if you believe access has been compromised.
Acceptable Use
You may review, save, print, and export records for your own lawful professional work. You may not:
- resell PermitBeam access, reports, or presentation as a competing data service;
- scrape, bulk-download, probe, or reverse engineer the service except through an export PermitBeam intentionally provides;
- attempt to access another user's data or bypass access controls;
- interfere with the service, introduce malicious code, or use it for unlawful activity; or
- present PermitBeam summaries as government determinations or use them as the sole basis for a consequential decision about a person.
Exports and Citations
You may use exported records and citations in your internal work and client files. Keep the cited source and record identifier with any material excerpt. Do not remove limitations or alter a summary in a way that makes it appear to state more than the official record supports.
Fees
If PermitBeam and you agree to paid access, the written order, invoice, or other agreement controls the price, billing schedule, cancellation, and refund terms. Stripe may process payment, but a Stripe payment page or prior setup flow does not create a public offer on its own.
Availability and Changes
The service may be changed, interrupted, or discontinued, and official source feeds may be unavailable without notice. We will use reasonable care in operating the pilot and private desk but do not promise uninterrupted access or a particular source's continued availability.
Ownership
The PermitBeam name, software, interface, report structure, and original presentation are owned by PermitBeam. Underlying government records remain subject to the rules of their official sources; PermitBeam does not claim ownership of public government data.
Disclaimer and Liability
PermitBeam is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, PermitBeam disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages, or for decisions based on source-data errors. PermitBeam's aggregate liability arising from paid access will not exceed the amount you paid for that access during the twelve months before the claim.
Suspension and Termination
You may stop using PermitBeam at any time. We may suspend or end access to protect the service, respond to abuse or security risk, enforce these terms, or comply with law. Terms that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits—continue to apply.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
